Rutgers University Computer Repair Flat-Rate Repair Schedule- Effective December 1, 2006
The following flat-rate labor charges apply to all services performed by Rutgers Computer Repair. Please note that the minimum charge of $99.00 plus N.J. sales tax ($105.93) is due when the equipment is accepted for repair and is NOT refundable. This minimum charge will be applied to cover the cost of removing a virus, restoring the operating system, or repairing a desktop computer; all other services will be billed at the rates listed below.
Operating System Problem- Basic Service Reload or repair operating system; apply all current system patches for RU Compliance. (All Data and applications will be lost if operating system must be reloaded.) Customer must supply manufacturer’s System Restore CD. $99.00Basic Service, no System Restore CD $109.00Operating System Problem- Advanced Service with Data Backup Reload or repair operating system; apply all current system patches for RU Compliance. If operating system cannot be repaired, backup and restore data files and folders as per client’s instructions, reload all applications supplied by client. Assumes working hard disk; data is restored to hard disk after repair is complete. Data may be supplied on CD/DVD for an additional charge. Customer must supply System Restore CD. $158.00 Advanced Service, no System Restore CD $168.00 Repair of Desktop System- No Data Backup, parts extra $99.00 Repair of Laptop System- No Data Backup, parts extra $135.00
Other Carry-In Services Available- System must be in working order Installation of memory, CD, DVD, second hard disk, sound card, modem, Ethernet card, or video card- $59.00* Installation of new primary Hard Disk with O/S- $99.00* Power cleaning- flush fans, case, and power supply- $20.00 Data Backup to CD or DVD (media extra) $59.00* Warranty Administration Fee- Call for price *- Customer may supply parts for installation; fee applies only to working systems. If the client’s data is not recoverable the fee may be waived in some circumstances; please call for more information. All minimum charges and Carry-In Service fees are due when the system is accepted for service; any additional charges are due when the repair is complete. Equipment left in-shop for 60 days past notification that service is complete will be considered abandoned and sold or discarded. |
